Finding Her Cowboy Page 16
Wyatt chuckled. “That’s because you’re family. An annoying little brat.”
Kara smacked Wyatt on his arm. “Punk face, jelly squish head.”
Jack took Becca by the hand, laughing as they walked away. “Let’s give these two lovebirds some space,” he whispered in her ear.
“What about these two love birds?” Becca said, pointing at him and then to herself.
He nodded, tickling her side which caused her to giggle uncontrollably. “Yes, these two lovebirds definitely need some alone time.”
A few minutes down the path, they met up with Rob. He shook his head. “Jack, why are you caked in mud?”
“You think I’m caked in mud?” Jack asked, scratching his brow. “Wait until you see Wyatt.”
“Where is Wyatt?” Rob asked.
“He and the photographer are down by the pond,” Becca said with a laugh. “But they need a few more minutes of alone time.”
Jack grunted and squeezed her hand. She cast an inquisitive look at him, but he didn’t flinch. He kept his focus on Rob as his brother huffed down the trail toward the pond.
“What just happened?” asked Becca.
“When you mentioned Kara was the photographer, I remembered that Rob said something at Harlan’s engagement party about having the hots for her and wanting to ask her out.”
“That’s unlucky.” Becca winced, wishing she hadn’t said anything.
“Maybe for Rob,” Jack said, taking Becca into his arms. “But I’m feeling pretty lucky.”
She threaded her arms behind his back and squeezed him tight. “I’m the lucky one. I found my cowboy. What makes you so lucky?”
“How about I show you? I’ve got my hat in the car,” he said with a wink, grabbing her hand and giving it a light pull toward the parking lot.
She nodded, then laughed with him as they sprinted toward his blue Tesla.
